The Role:

They are looking for a talented Java Engineer to join their engineering team and help build the next generation of high-performance data distribution infrastructure.

You will be responsible for designing and developing scalable backend systems that ingest, transform, process, and distribute large volumes of data in real time. Working on core platform components, you will help build highly reliable services that power critical data workflows across the business.

This role will involve solving complex engineering challenges around event-driven architectures, data pipelines, distributed systems, and cloud-native infrastructure. You will work closely with experienced engineers to build systems that prioritise performance, resilience, and scalability.

The team embraces modern engineering practices including automated testing, clean architecture, continuous delivery, and strong ownership of production systems. This is an ideal role for an engineer who enjoys working on technically challenging backend platforms and wants to see the direct impact of their work in a fast-growing technology company.

Requirements 

• Strong commercial experience developing applications using Java (Java 17+ ideally)
• Strong understanding of backend engineering principles and object-oriented design
• Experience building scalable, high-throughput distributed systems
• Hands-on experience with Kafka or equivalent event streaming technologies
• Experience designing and developing ETL/data processing pipelines
• Strong understanding of APIs, data flows, and service-based architectures
• Experience working with cloud technologies and modern deployment practices
• Passion for writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code

No previous low latency or multithreading experience needed just an interest in doing it!!
