What you’ll do:
Plan and deliver engaging, tailored lessons for pupils with sensory processing differences.
Use sensory integration and scaffolded communication to support learning.
Work closely with our team of therapists and families to provide holistic support.
Track and assess pupil progress, adapting your approach as needed.
Be an active member of a supportive and collaborative school team.
Person Specification
Qualifications and training
Qualified teacher status (QTS) or equivalent.
Evidence of professional development relevant to sensory integration and special educational needs.
Experience
Successful teaching experience, ideally within a special school or with pupils with sensory processing needs.
Experience in developing and delivering differentiated curricula for pupils with additional needs.
Previous work with multidisciplinary teams, including therapists and families.
Skills and knowledge
Strong understanding of sensory integration theory and practice.
Ability to use a wide range of strategies to support pupils with sensory processing differences.
Knowledge of effective assessment methods for pupils with SEND.
Excellent communication and organisational skills.
Ability to adapt teaching to meet individual needs and track progress effectively.
