Role Overview
A forward-thinking and ambitious secondary school in Lincoln is seeking an engaging and knowledgeable Economics Teacher to join its thriving Social Sciences department. This full-time, permanent position involves delivering dynamic Economics lessons across Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 (A-Level), helping students understand real-world markets, microeconomics, and global macroeconomics.
The role is open to both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced practitioners looking for a supportive academic environment to teach ambitious Sixth Form learners. You will join a collaborative department focused on fostering critical thinking, analytical writing, and economic literacy.
Key Responsibilities & Requirements
Teaching: Deliver rigorous, well-structured Economics lessons across GCSE and A-Level, making complex economic theories and quantitative models accessible and relevant.
Student Progress: Track student attainment, lead targeted exam-technique workshops, and prepare Sixth Form students thoroughly for A-Level examinations and university entry.
Departmental Contribution: Collaborate on scheme-of-work development, keep curriculum content aligned with current global economic trends, and support extra-curricular clubs like Young Enterprise or Economics Societies.
Qualifications: Relevant degree in Economics, Finance, or a closely related discipline alongside QTS or PGCE.
Skills: Strong subject knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to inspire debate on current affairs and economic policy.
