  • You'll have a Blue Light Certificate and a full UK driving licenses with a minimum of two years experience. We can usually accept up to 6 points on your license, but this depends on what for.

Main duties of the job
What will you be doing?
We're not going to list all the duties involved with the role as we expect you're qualified, compassionate and fully understand the role of a Paramedic. But we do look to recruit those who have a positive approach and outlook, can deal with stressful and challenging situations and support and help colleagues in delivering first class medical care.

You could be working for us at one of our NHS Trust partners in a frontline or Patient Transfer role. Or you may be interested in undertaking duties at some of the events we provide cover for, including motor racing, carnivals, festivals or sporting events including boxing or football matches, hockey tournaments.

You'll enjoy working with state-of-the-art ambulances and medical vehicles, all fully stocked with the latest equipment.

To be shortlisted for this position, the following qualifications are essential: -
  • Recognised Paramedic Qualification
  • Professional Registration HCPC
  • Recognised blue light qualification i.e. IHCD / Level 3 Emergency Response Ambulance Driving
  • Full UK Driving Licence with a minimum of 2 years experience (maximum 3 points)

We operate a 24/7 private ambulance and medical service, catering for either short notice or pre-planned assignments throughout the UK.

Job responsibilities
The position of a Paramedic is to be responsible for the assessment, care, treatment and transportation of emergency, urgent and routine calls.

The role will also include the providing of advanced clinical interventions, including drug therapies at scene and may administer medication within PGD guidelines.

There will also be a requirement to undertake emergency blue light driving and work in a variety of locations, such as ambulance vehicles, care settings, hospital settings and events.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate ambulance equipment and respond to company requests
  • Communicate with the patient and others to determine, and then use, the correct combination of ambulance equipment, paramedic skills to meet patient requirements.
  • Lead and coordinate the team responding to an emergency
  • Evaluate the patients condition on the scene and perform preliminary diagnosis
  • Attend to injuries or sudden illnesses by applying a variety of pre-hospital simple and advanced treatments (first aid, CPR, administering injections and oxygen etc.) or surgical procedures
  • Use tech equipment and tools to stabilize patients or provide immediate treatment
  • Monitor patients condition en-route to the hospital or specified location
  • Collaborate with interested parties (police, firefighting unit, doctors etc.)
  • Adhere to established medical protocols and procedures as well as legal guidelines and health and safety standards
  • Keep abreast with new treatment and medical procedures through continuous training
  • Communicating effectively with patients and their relatives/friends
  • Communicates and documents patients' conditions to other members of medical crew, such as emergency doctors and nurses, upon arrival at medical facility
  • Maintain current professional registration with HCPC
  • Ensure that advanced driving skills are maintained and whilst driving, ensure compliance with legislation and the Highway Code.
  • Ensuring upkeep and cleanliness of vehicle, returning them to the base in a clean standard received & updating the Senior Management of any damage or issues to the ambulance vehicle
