Senior Recruiter

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB: (JOB SUMMARY)

 

The Senior Recruiter will play a key role in delivering the PFAS Workforce Plan across designated regions, working in close partnership with the Recruitment Team and Recruitment Manager. The role is responsible for ensuring the effective, timely, and cost-efficient attraction and onboarding of high-quality candidates, in line with Employment Legislation, organisational policies, and best practice in recruitment and HR.

 

The post holder will collaborate with Operational and Clinical Leadership teams within PFAS to ensure workforce requirements are met, enabling the delivery of safe, high-quality, and compliant functional assessment services. This includes proactively planning and executing targeted recruitment campaigns to attract specialist talent, particularly across clinical and healthcare roles aligned to PFAS service delivery.

 

Working alongside internal Communications team, the Senior Recruiter will utilise a range of sourcing strategies and platforms, including digital advertising and social media, to enhance employer branding and candidate attraction in competitive talent markets.

 

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (JOB CONTENT)

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading end-to-end recruitment activity to support delivery of the PFAS Workforce Plan
  • Partnering with stakeholders to understand workforce needs and provide strategic recruitment support
  • Designing and implementing innovative attraction strategies to fill hard-to-recruit roles including attendance at relevant career events/networking meetings
  • Driving continuous improvement of recruitment processes, systems, and candidate experience
  • Ensuring adherence to recruitment Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and key performance metrics
  • Producing regular recruitment reports, insights, and workforce data to inform decision-making
  • Providing expert advice on recruitment, onboarding, and relevant UK Employment Law

Supporting compliance requirements, including safer recruitment and audit standards

 

The role requires a proactive, solutions-focused recruiter who can manage high-volume and specialist hiring demands, while maintaining exceptional service standards and contributing to the overall success of PFAS workforce delivery.

 

Key Responsibilities

1. Stakeholder & Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with hiring managers, operational leaders, and clinical teams across PFAS
  • Act as a trusted recruitment advisor, managing expectations and improving stakeholder understanding of recruitment processes
  • Promote best practice recruitment and selection approaches, ensuring safe, values-based hiring
  • Support delivery of targeted workforce plans, including early careers and graduate pipelines
  • Deliver recruitment training and guidance to managers to ensure compliance and consistency

2. Workforce Planning & Reporting

  • Support the delivery of the PFAS Workforce Plan across designated regions
  • Monitor recruitment performance against KPIs, SLAs, and time-to-hire targets
  • Produce regular reports and data-driven insights to inform workforce decisions
  • Identify trends, risks, and opportunities within recruitment activity and recommend improvements
  • Contribute to workforce forecasting and pipeline planning

3. Recruitment Delivery & Talent Attraction

  • Lead and support end-to-end recruitment campaigns for clinical and non-clinical roles within PFAS
  • Develop innovative attraction strategies, including digital campaigns, social media, and partnerships with education providers
  • Build and maintain proactive talent pipelines to meet current and future demand
  • Support assessment centre design and delivery for volume and specialist recruitment
  • Represent PFAS at recruitment events, careers fairs, and outreach initiatives (including flexible attendance where required)

4. Process Improvement & Candidate Experience

  • Drive improvements to recruitment systems, processes, and candidate journey
  • Support initiatives to reduce time-to-hire and candidate drop-out rates
  • Ensure recruitment processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned to best practice
  • Act as an escalation point for recruitment queries and candidate experience issues
  • Contribute to the implementation of new tools, technologies, and recruitment innovations

5. HR Advice & Compliance

  • Provide expert advice on recruitment, onboarding, and UK Employment Law
  • Ensure compliance with safer recruitment principles, employment legislation, and organisational policies
  • Maintain high standards in pre-employment checks and selection processes
  • Support investigations and responses to recruitment-related complaints
  • Promote inclusive recruitment practices to improve workforce diversity

6. Projects, Initiatives & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead or support recruitment projects and service improvements
  • Act as a change champion, embedding new ways of working across recruitment
  • Collaborate with training, education, and clinical teams to ensure a joined-up workforce approach
  • Keep up to date with labour market trends and industry best practice
  • Support senior and critical hires where required

7. Team Contribution & Leadership

  • Support and mentor wider team members
  • Promote a positive, high-performance team culture aligned to PFAS values
  • Share knowledge, best practice, and lessons learned across the function
  • Deputise for Recruitment Manager when required

Key Skills & Experience;

 

Qualifications:

 

CIPD Level 5, or equivalent relevant level of recruitment and management experience within a Recruitment or HR related role (E)

Must be prepared to undertake relevant training to develop skills required to carry out duties (E)

Continuous Professional Development in line with the qualification that the post holder holds (D)

 

Skills and Knowledge:

 

Basic knowledge of Employment Law, changes in Legislation and HR Policies and Procedures that relate to recruitment practices

Required to analyse a situation and choose from a range of options, with some degree of investigation required

Clear communicator with excellent writing, report writing and presentation skills, capable of constructing and delivering clear ideas and concepts concisely and accurately for diverse audiences, including ability to present the data in a user-friendly manner.

Organisation and time management skills to manage and deliver a range of tasks and projects to deadline

Ability to plan and implement objectives.

 

Experience:

 

Working with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders

Experience of leading on Recruitment Campaigns to recruit clinicians

Proven track record in using social media for advertising job opportunities

Influencing and negotiation skills

Experience of using HR electronic systems (ATS)

Experience of working with, and dealing with, internal and external stakeholders

Experience of producing work to a high standard and against tight deadlines

Ability to analyse and interpret information, pre-empt and evaluate issues, and recommend an appropriate course of action to address the issues
