The School of Health and Life Sciences is entering an exciting period of growth and transformation. As demand for innovative continuing professional development (CPD), commissioned education and workforce learning expands across health, social care and life sciences, we are seeking an organised, proactive and collaborative Administrative Assistant to join our new Centre for Health Workforce Transformation and Professional Learning.

This is a varied role at the heart of the Centre’s day-to-day operation. You will provide central administrative coordination across a growing portfolio of professional learning and workforce education, helping learners, academic colleagues, professional services and external partners receive a responsive, accurate and high-quality service.

We are seeking a highly organised and customer-focused administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will bring experience of working in a busy, complex environment and demonstrate excellent communication, organisational and financial management skills. You should be proficient in Microsoft 365 applications, together with experience of using databases, customer relationship management systems, or management information systems. You should be able to work flexibly and independently, exercising an appropriate level of autonomy to manage competing priorities and consistently meet agreed deadlines.

You will manage the end-to-end administration of CPD and commissioned education applications, from initial enquiry and application through to offer, registration, enrolment, payment, learner communication and completion. You will also manage shared mailboxes and calendars, maintain accurate records and management information, monitor actions and deadlines, and support routine financial processes including purchase orders, invoicing, payments and fee-share arrangements.

Working with colleagues and external partners, you will support partnership governance by coordinating proposals, tenders, Memoranda of Understanding, Memoranda of Agreement and related approvals and records. You will organise meetings, working groups and events, prepare papers and minutes, maintain action and activity trackers, and coordinate the effective use of Centre space and resources.

The role will also help keep the Centre’s webpages and digital content accurate and current and support the Centre Strategic Lead with marketing, branding, recruitment, promotional and partner-engagement activity. By improving administrative processes and keeping complex activity moving, you will contribute directly to the Centre’s growth and to GCU’s reputation as a partner of choice for workforce education and professional learning.
