Graduate Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant – Gateshead

Protocol Education is recruiting a Graduate Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to work within a specialist school in Gateshead, supporting pupils with SEND and SEMH needs.
This rewarding role is ideal for Criminology graduates looking to develop practical experience before progressing into careers in education, social care, youth offending services, counselling, or psychology.
You'll work alongside experienced staff, helping pupils develop confidence, manage emotions, and access learning in a safe and supportive environment.

Key responsibilities:
- Provide individual and small-group support
- Encourage positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Help pupils remain engaged in lessons
- Build positive and consistent relationships
- Support students to reach their educational goals
You'll need:
- A Criminology degree (or similar)
- Strong communication skills
- Patience, empathy and resilience
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position.
