A welcoming school in Prestwich is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September on a long-term, ongoing basis until the end of the academic year.

The successful candidate will provide valuable support to pupils with additional needs, helping them access learning, develop their confidence and make progress both academically and socially. You will work closely with the class teacher and wider support team to create a positive, inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs

• Supporting pupils to access and engage with classroom learning

• Adapting activities and resources to meet individual learning needs

• Supporting pupils with their communication, social and emotional development

• Assisting with behaviour management and emotional regulation where required

• Helping to implement individual support plans and EHCP targets

• Encouraging independence, confidence and positive relationships

• Working collaboratively with teachers and other members of the school team

• Supporting pupils throughout the school day, including during break and lunchtime

The successful applicant will:

• Have experience working with children or young people, ideally within an SEN setting

• Be patient, compassionate and nurturing

• Have a calm and consistent approach to supporting pupils

• Be confident working as part of a team

• Be proactive and able to adapt to individual pupil needs

• Have a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development

• Have full-time availability from September

• Hold a valid Child Workforce DBS or be willing to obtain one

• Have the right to work in the UK
