Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for your next opportunity in Bristol?
Protocol Education is working with a range of specialist SEN schools and mainstream schools across Bristol , supporting pupils with a variety of additional learning needs. We are looking for dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants who can provide consistent, high-quality support in the classroom.
About the Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with a range of needs, which may include:
- Autism and ADHD
- Communication and interaction needs
- Social, emotional and mental health needs
- Moderate learning difficulties
- Complex and additional needs
- Challenging behaviour
You may provide 1:1 support, small-group intervention and general classroom assistance , helping pupils access learning and develop their confidence and independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEN
- Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum and classroom activities
- Support communication, social skills and emotional development
- Implement individual support and behaviour strategies
- Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils
- Encourage independence and confidence
- Work closely with teachers and other support staff
- Maintain a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment
Requirements
- Minimum 6 months' relevant UK experience working with children, young people or within an educational/support setting
- Previous SEN/SEND experience is highly desirable
- A patient, resilient and caring approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine interest in supporting pupils with additional needs
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable, but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position.
