SEND Teaching Assistant
Location: Slough, Berkshire
Full-Time | Term Time Only
Salary: 17,257.45

We are working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Slough seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team.
The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping pupils access learning and reach their full potential. Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO, you will provide tailored support to children with a range of additional needs, both within the classroom and through targeted interventions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting pupils with SEND on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
- Assisting with the delivery of personalised learning programmes
- Promoting positive behaviour and engagement in learning
- Supporting pupils' social, emotional, and academic development
- Working collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, and external professionals
- Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for individuals who:
- Have experience working with children, ideally within an educational or SEND setting
- Possess a patient, caring, and adaptable approach
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Are passionate about supporting children with additional needs
- Can build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Are reliable, proactive, and committed to making a difference
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Care Worker, Youth Worker, Nursery Practitioner, or similar role
- Experience supporting children with autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH, or complex learning needs
- Relevant qualifications in Education, Childcare, Health & Social Care, or SEND
