In-house VAT Accountant (Flexible working)
£45k - £60k per annumWe currently have an opportunity with a FTSE-250 food technology business offering market-beating flexibility – up to three days a week working from home. This would make for an excellent role for someone looking for serious work-life balance.
Ideally the business is looking to hire someone quickly, so if you’re immediately available or on a short notice period it would be beneficial. Longer notices are still considered.
Your responsibilities will be largely compliance focused - with the more basic information gathering sat within the accounts department, you will manage the collation of the UK VAT returns and manage the VAT accounting. You will also be the go-to person for VAT enquiries globally, redirecting as necessary. Project work will also largely feature, with the first priority being a technical review of indirect tax accounting policies.
Ideally you will be a qualified accountant or be tax qualified with in-depth knowledge indirect tax legislation future and present. You will have a good technical grounding in Excel, and ideally Oracle (but not a deal-breaker). This position sits within a very collaborative team, so you should have excellent communication skills and be comfortable embedding yourself into the function.
