Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualised support and tailored learning experiences for students with special educational needs and disabilities
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and the wider school community to develop and implement effective teaching strategies
- Foster an inclusive and nurturing environment that celebrates diversity and empowers students to reach their full potential
- Assist with the delivery of engaging and interactive lessons, adapting materials and activities to meet the unique needs of each student
- Monitor student progress, maintain detailed records, and contribute to the ongoing assessment and evaluation of learning outcomes
- Support students with personal care, mobility, and other daily living activities as needed
- Actively participate in professional development opportunities to continuously enhance your skills and knowledge
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proven experience as a Teaching Assistant, preferably with a focus on supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities
- Strong understanding of the diverse learning needs of students with SEND and the ability to adapt teaching approaches accordingly
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
- Demonstrable creativity and problem-solving skills, with the flexibility to overcome challenges and think outside the box
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries
- A relevant teaching or learning support qualification ( NVQ, BTEC, or equivalent)
- Willingness to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
Requirements:
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
- Right to work in the UK.
- Relevant professional references.
- Previous SEND experience is desirable but not essential.
