People Advisory Manager

£13.2 - £15.2 per hourEstimated
Full-time

Help shape a newly created People Advisory team at one of the UK's leading cultural organisations.

We're looking for an experienced people professional to lead employee relations, manager support and people advisory services across the Royal Shakespeare Company.

This newly created role offers a rare opportunity to design and develop a high-quality People Advisory team that supports managers to handle people matters with confidence, consistency and care. You'll lead complex employee relations work, guide organisational change, influence policy and practice, and help drive a more proactive and preventative approach to people management.

Working closely with senior leaders, People Partners, trade union representatives and employee voice groups, you'll use your expertise and insight to strengthen manager capability, improve organisational practice and support a positive employee experience across the organisation.

If you're looking for a role where you can combine technical expertise, leadership and organisational influence, we'd love to hear from you.

Key responsibilities include

  • Leading complex and high-risk employee relations matters, ensuring fair, consistent and legally robust outcomes.
  • Managing and developing the People Advisory team, creating a trusted, high-quality advisory service.
  • Providing expert advice, guidance and constructive challenge to managers, People colleagues and senior leaders.
  • Leading the people aspects of organisational change, including restructures, redundancies and TUPE activity.
  • Using insight from casework, employee feedback and people data to improve policy, practice and organisational learning.
  • Building positive relationships with trade unions, employee networks and key stakeholders.

What we're looking for

  • Significant employee relations experience, including complex and high-risk case management.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and its practical application.
  • Experience of organisational change and consultation processes.
  • Experience of leading, coordinating or developing advisory services or teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, coaching and influencing skills.
  • A commitment to inclusive, values-led people practice.

For full details, please see the accompanying Role Profile.

This is a full-time, permanent position based in Stratford-upon-Avon, with hybrid working of 3 days on site and 2 days remote. You will work 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, although occasional evening and weekend working may be required to support operational needs.

As part of the People Experience team, you will play a key leadership role in creating an environment where people practice is fair, confident, consistent and future-focused. This role offers the opportunity to shape a new advisory function, influence organisational practice, and combine strategic thinking with hands-on leadership in a unique and ambitious cultural organisation.
