Resource Planner
- Be part of an evolving planning function where your expertise will directly influence operational performance, workforce strategy and future business growth.
- Enjoy a varied role spanning real-time resource management, forecasting, capacity planning and strategic workforce planning across a broad customer service operation.
- Hybrid 80% homeworking and 20% from our offices in Bristol, Glasgow or York
About the role
Our Resource Planning function plays a critical role in ensuring we have the right people, in the right place, at the right time to deliver exceptional service to our customers. As part of a growing Planning & Performance team, you'll support a wide range of Customer Service departments, providing insight, forecasting and planning expertise that helps shape both day-to-day operations and longer-term workforce strategies.
As a Resource Planner, you'll work across a diverse portfolio of business areas including Claims and Underwriting, balancing immediate operational priorities with medium and long-term planning requirements. You'll use data, forecasting models and management information to provide recommendations on resource requirements, capacity planning, recruitment needs and service performance, helping leaders make informed decisions that support both customer outcomes and colleague experience.
No two days are the same. You could be responding to changing service demands, analysing performance trends, reviewing workforce forecasts, supporting incident management, or working with stakeholders to develop plans that extend months or even years into the future. You'll build strong relationships with leaders across the business, using your analytical expertise, planning knowledge and influencing skills to challenge constructively and drive effective operational decisions.
Joining a function that continues to evolve, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to improvements in planning processes, promote greater flexibility across teams and help ensure we maintain a resilient, efficient and customer-focused operation.
About you
You'll have proven experience working in resource planning, workforce management or a similar operational planning environment. (Experience of this within Insurance or Financial Services industry would also be beneficial) It's important that you can demonstrate:
- Experience of workforce management and resource planning, including medium and long-term forecasting, capacity planning and scheduling.
- Strong data analysis, data modelling and Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to interpret complex information and translate it into meaningful insight and recommendations.
- Experience of producing and using management information to support forecasting, resource planning and operational decision-making.
- The ability to build effective relationships and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, influencing outcomes and constructively challenging where necessary.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the confidence to make proactive recommendations and identify practical solutions to planning and resource challenges.
- Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple activities, respond to changing priorities and maintain attention to detail.
You'll ideally also have experience using Power BI to create reporting and visualise workforce planning data, although this is not essential for the role.
