Pay: £460-£650 per week (depending on experience)

Contract: Full-time/ Part-time, Day-to-day/ Long-term

GSL Education are looking for a Cover Supervisor to join schools in Sheffield . We are seeking a confident and adaptable individual who can manage classroom activities effectively and maintain a productive learning environment in the absence of the regular teacher.

The Cover Supervisor (CS) role provides a valuable route into education while allowing you to gain experience leading classrooms, supporting student engagement, and developing behaviour management skills.

Responsibilities of CS:

* Supervise lessons using pre-prepared materials provided by teaching staff
* Ensure students remain focused and complete assigned work during lessons
* Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies and expectations
* Provide guidance and clarification where appropriate to support learning
* Record attendance, monitor participation, and report any concerns
* Maintain a positive and organised classroom environment throughout the day

Requirements for CS:

* Experience working with children or young people is desirable
* Confidence managing groups of students in a classroom setting
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to remain calm, organised, and professional under pressure
* Flexible and proactive approach to supporting schools
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
