Where will you be working?

We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards.  We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure.

This role will be within our wastewater Storm Overflow Alliance project delivery team. Our teams deliver large-scale programmes aimed at keeping water infrastructure resilient for the long-term while protecting the environment.

What will you be doing?

This leadership role oversees a water division of approximately 160 FTE, driving growth of in-house design capabilities and client value propositions within existing and new frameworks. Key responsibilities include achieving annual business, revenue, utilisation, and profitability targets, ensuring robust systems and processes to support strategic plans, and maintaining technical compliance with industry standards. The role involves implementing digital enhancements, standardizing technical learning, and fostering efficiency. Building strong client relationships and supporting strategic plans is essential, alongside mentoring teams and establishing succession plans. The position demands vision, operational collaboration, and a commitment to innovation and performance excellence.

What you’ll bring

• Experienced in at least one of the following work types. Wastewater and or Site based Civil Engineering (sewers/manholes/shafts/water retaining structures/roads)
• Proven site leader (teams, subcontractors, and multi-site activities)
• Commercial awareness and experience with NEC 3/4 contracts
• Excellent planning, coordination, and problem-solving skills
• Deep understanding of construction methods, safety regulations, and quality standards
• Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities
• Knowledge of CDM roles and responsibilities
• A strong SHEQ mentality
• Impeccable record keeper
• Full UK Driving license
