About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teacher to join a specialist education setting supporting children and young people with a range of additional learning needs. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEN professional or an enthusiastic teacher looking to develop their career within specialist education.

Key Responsibilities

* Plan, deliver and evaluate engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
* Develop and implement personalised learning programmes in line with EHCP outcomes.
* Support pupils with a range of complex learning, communication and sensory needs.
* Foster positive relationships that promote confidence, independence and emotional wellbeing.
* Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, families and external professionals.
* Monitor, assess and record pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies where required.
* Create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment that supports learning and positive behaviour.
* Contribute to annual reviews, multi-disciplinary meetings and wider school life.

About You

We are looking for a teacher who has:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
* Experience teaching pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in either specialist or mainstream settings.
* Experience supporting pupils with complex needs , including:

* Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
* Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
* Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
* Communication and interaction needs
* Sensory processing differences
* Physical disabilities and medical needs (desirable)

* Strong knowledge of differentiated teaching strategies and inclusive practice.
* Experience working with alternative communication methods such as PECS, Makaton or AAC (desirable).
* A calm, patient and adaptable approach with excellent behaviour management skills.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
