Want to work on engineering projects that will shape the future?
Do you have the leadership skills to deliver complex infrastructure projects while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and performance?
If you're passionate about leading teams, managing large-scale construction activities and delivering critical energy infrastructure, this is your opportunity to play a key role in one of the UK's most significant infrastructure programmes.
When you join Laing O'Rourke, you'll become part of an industry-leading engineering and construction team delivering some of the UK's most complex and rewarding infrastructure projects. We are committed to investing in our people through structured development, continuous learning and long-term career opportunities, supporting you to build a rewarding career with us.
What is the Great Grid Upgrade?
The Great Grid Upgrade is the largest overhaul of the UK's electricity transmission network in generations. Led by National Grid, the programme involves upgrading and expanding the high-voltage electricity network across England and Wales to transport increasing amounts of renewable energy, improve energy security and support the UK's transition to a low-carbon future.
As part of this transformational programme, Laing O'Rourke is delivering key elements of the Great Grid Partnership, helping to strengthen the UK's electricity network and support the nation's net-zero ambitions.
What is the role?
We're looking for an experienced Project Manager to provide leadership and overall project management for a defined work package within the Great Grid Partnership programme.
Reporting to the Senior Leadership Team, you'll be responsible for delivering your section of works safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards. Working collaboratively with National Grid, project partners, designers, subcontractors and internal teams, you'll drive performance across all aspects of project delivery.
You'll lead multidisciplinary teams, oversee project planning and resource management, manage commercial performance, and ensure effective implementation of Laing O'Rourke's project management systems and processes. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on a nationally important infrastructure programme while championing innovation, operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Location: Based on the GWNC project with travel across the 114km route between Grimsby and Walpole as required.
