SEND Tutor - Make a Meaningful Difference Through Personalised Learning

Location: East Sussex
Pay: £30-£42 per hour
Contract: Flexible Hours | In-Person Tuition

Transform Lives Through One-to-One Education

We believe every child deserves an education that is tailored to their individual strengths, needs, and aspirations.

As a SEND Tutor, you'll have the opportunity to deliver truly personalised, one-to-one learning that supports not only academic progress but also confidence, emotional wellbeing, and a renewed enjoyment of education.

Free from the demands of a traditional classroom, you'll have the flexibility to adapt your teaching approach, build meaningful relationships, and respond to each learner's unique needs. Many of the young people we support have experienced barriers to education, and your guidance can help them reconnect with learning and achieve outcomes they may never have thought possible.

This is an ideal opportunity for qualified teachers and experienced SEND practitioners looking for flexible work that offers both professional fulfilment and a genuine opportunity to make a lasting impact.

The Role

As a SEND Tutor, you will deliver personalised tuition programmes that are carefully tailored to each learner's educational, emotional, and developmental needs.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering high-quality one-to-one tuition to children and young people with SEND, primarily through face-to-face sessions (with occasional online delivery where appropriate)
  • Planning and delivering engaging, bespoke lessons that promote confidence, progress, and learner engagement
  • Setting SMART learning targets and reviewing progress regularly
  • Designing interventions that support both academic achievement and emotional wellbeing
  • Creating a safe, positive, and supportive learning environment
  • Completing attendance records, session reports, and progress updates following each lesson
  • Conducting risk assessments to ensure safe learning environments
  • Attending multi-agency meetings and participating in ongoing CPD and professional development opportunities
  • Following safeguarding procedures and promoting the welfare of all learners at all times
About You

We're looking for compassionate, adaptable professionals who are passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs.

You'll ideally have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or significant teaching or classroom experience
  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND within primary, secondary, college, or specialist education settings
  • A strong understanding of strategies that engage and motivate learners with diverse educational needs
  • Excellent subject knowledge and the ability to deliver personalised learning
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to work independently while maintaining high professional standards
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
  • A good understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and best practice
Why Join us?

Working with us offers more than flexible tutoring opportunities-it provides the chance to make a genuine difference in the lives of children and young people who benefit from personalised, relationship-based education.

You'll enjoy:

  • Competitive hourly rates of £30-£42 per hour
  • Flexible working patterns that fit around your availability
  • The opportunity to focus on meaningful one-to-one teaching
  • Ongoing support from an experienced and dedicated team
  • Access to continued professional development opportunities
  • A rewarding role where you can see the direct impact of your work every day
