Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy Health Care Support Worker - Medical Specialties

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Band 3 Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy (OT/PT) Support Worker to join the Medical Allied Health Professional (AHP) Team within the Inverclyde Royal Hospital.

You will work closely with qualified physiotherapists and occupational therapists, supporting the delivery of patient-centred care and contributing to effective rehabilitation and discharge planning.

The role requires a motivated individual who is flexible, innovative and committed to supporting the ongoing development of the service. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team and demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) may be able to provide visa sponsorship for certain roles, subject to the post meeting the relevant eligibility criteria. Sponsorship is not guaranteed and will be determined on a case-by-case basis following interview and during the pre-employment verification process. Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

  • This is a permanent post working 36 hours per week
  • These hours will be work 5 over 7 days
  • This post will be based at Inverclyde Royal Hospital

Key Responsibilities

You will assist qualified physiotherapists and occupational therapists in delivering individual patient treatment programmes and supporting discharge planning processes. This will include liaising with and referring patients to appropriate community agencies to ensure continuity of care following discharge.

In addition, you will undertake a range of administrative and housekeeping duties, including monitoring stock levels, ordering equipment and supplies, and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the service.

Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:

  • Experience as a Band 3 OT/PT Support Worker or in a similar support role
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Flexible, innovative and patient-centred approach to care
  • Commitment to supporting the ongoing development of the service

Desirable Requirements

  • Previous NHS experience
  • Full driving licence
