Design & Technology ECT

A dynamic Secondary Academy in Exeter is seeking a professional and highly organised Design & Technology (DT) Early Career Teacher (ECT) to join their experienced academic team. The successful candidate will provide day-to-day instructional support across multiple key stages and assist senior leaders, teaching staff, and wider support teams. Responsibilities will include maintaining student progress records, updating school tracking systems, managing departmental correspondence, supporting attendance administration, and assisting with the organisation of workshop safety inductions, design showcases, and local engineering competitions.

You will also support communication with parents, students, and external agencies while ensuring that information is handled professionally and confidentially at all times. Strong organisational skills are essential, as the role requires the ability to prioritise tasks effectively and manage multiple responsibilities within a busy school environment.

The school is looking for someone who is proactive, reliable, and able to work safely and efficiently both independently and as part of a collaborative academic staff team. Good IT skills and confidence using CAD/CAM programming systems are important, alongside strong communication and interpersonal skills.
