Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND Paralegal to join our Children Services team within the Legal/Security/Law industry. This role is crucial in providing specialized legal support and expertise in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) cases. The successful candidate will play a vital role in assisting with tribunal cases, ensuring that the legal rights of children and their families are upheld. This position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of children requiring special educational support, while working in a dynamic and rewarding environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert legal assistance and support in SEND cases, focusing on children services.
- Prepare and manage documentation for tribunal hearings and other legal proceedings.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support case preparation and strategy.
- Liaise with clients, families, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and provide updates on case progress.
- Assist in drafting legal documents, including statements, submissions, and correspondence.
- Maintain accurate and organized case files and records.
- Collaborate with legal teams and other professionals to ensure comprehensive case management.
- Stay informed on changes in SEND legislation and tribunal procedures to provide up-to-date advice.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a legal environment, with a focus on SEND and tribunal cases.
- Strong understanding of SEND legislation and its application in children services.
- Proven experience in preparing for and supporting tribunal hearings.
- Excellent research, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and legal professionals.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Proficiency in legal software and case management systems.
- A commitment to advocating for the rights and needs of children with special educational requirements.
