An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic Registered Mental Health Nurse to join CITOP (Crisis and Intervention Team for Older People) as a Clinical Lead. CITOP provides specialist assessment, intervention and support to older people experiencing mental health crisis. As part of the service, the Acute Community Service (ACS) delivers intensive community-based interventions, providing an alternative to hospital admission and supporting people to remain in their own homes wherever possible. Following recent service development and investment, CITOP now operates as a 24-hour, 7-day service and continues to evolve in response to the changing needs of our population. Building on strong foundations, we are committed to maintaining high standards of care whilst continuing to develop and enhance our service for older people, their families and carers. As we move forward, focus remains on delivering responsive, person-centred care that aligns with local priorities and the national vision for community-based mental health services. We are seeking a motivated and forward-thinking clinical leader who is passionate about delivering high-quality care, supporting staff development and contributing to service improvement. Working alongside the Team Leader and fellow Clinical Lead, you will play a key role in shaping the future direction of CITOP, supporting innovation, quality improvement and the continued delivery of safe, effective and compassionate care. - Provide clinical and professional nursing leadership across CITOP and the Acute Community Service.
- Support staff managing complex mental health presentations and clinical risk.
- Promote excellence in clinical practice and professional standards.
- Contribute to service development, quality improvement and innovation.
- Support the ongoing development of crisis assessment, triage and intensive community intervention pathways.
- Support the delivery of effective alternatives to hospital admission where clinically appropriate.
- Provide supervision, support and development opportunities for staff.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across community, inpatient and urgent care services.
- Support the development of pathways that improve patient experience, continuity of care and integrated working.
