Lead Practitioner of Science

Manchester Academy is seeking to appoint an inspirational Lead Practitioner of Science to play a key role in driving excellence across our Science department and the wider academy. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly effective practitioner who has consistently delivered strong student outcomes and is eager to share their expertise with colleagues. The role will focus on improving teaching and learning, coaching and mentoring staff, and embedding evidence-informed practice to ensure all students achieve their potential.

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a strong track record of securing excellent GCSE Science results.

• Is an outstanding classroom practitioner with a deep understanding of effective pedagogy.

• Is passionate about professional development and enjoys supporting colleagues to refine and develop their practice.

• Can inspire, coach and mentor teachers, including ECTs and trainee teachers.

As Lead Practitioner, you will work closely with senior leaders and the Science leadership team to develop high-quality teaching, lead professional learning, support colleagues through coaching and mentoring, and contribute to whole-school improvement strategies. You will model exceptional classroom practice and help create a culture where both staff and students can thrive.

This role would suit an ambitious middle leader or experienced classroom teacher who is ready to make a wider impact and lead improvements in teaching and learning across the academy.
