A well-regarded independent school in Bournemouth is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Biology Teacher to join its successful Science department as soon as possible. This is an excellent opportunity to teach motivated pupils in a calm, academically focused environment where small class sizes support high-quality teaching and learning.
Biology is a strong and well-supported subject within the school, with good uptake at GCSE and A Level and a clear emphasis on practical investigation and conceptual understanding.
The Role
Teaching Biology across KS3 and KS4, with KS5 depending on experience
Planning and delivering engaging, well-structured lessons
Supporting pupils with practical investigations and exam preparation
Encouraging scientific enquiry, analytical thinking, and independent study
Contributing to enrichment opportunities and wider school life
Working collaboratively within a supportive and well-resourced Science department
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
A degree in Biology or a closely related subject
Experience teaching Biology at secondary level
Strong subject knowledge and confident classroom practice
High expectations for pupil engagement and academic progress
A professional, organised, and positive teaching approach
