As Head of People, you will be responsible for mobilising, delivering and embedding the Flutter UK & Ireland (UK&I) People Strategy within tombola. Working closely with the UK&I People team, Flutter Centres of Excellence and the tombola Leadership Team, you'll deliver a divisionally aligned people strategy that supports local people plans, talent identification and retention, employee engagement, and a high-performing culture, while recognising the unique culture and ways of working that make tombola distinctive.
Reporting to the Managing Director, with a dotted reporting line to the Director of People Partnering (CCO), you'll act as a strategic partner to the Managing Director and Leadership Team as tombola continues its journey of operational growth and maturity. Alongside partnering the Leadership Team, you'll provide leadership across four key areas: People Partnering, Talent Acquisition, Internal Communications & Engagement, and Reward.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll partner with leaders across the business to shape and deliver people initiatives that enable business success, providing strategic guidance while ensuring our people strategy is aligned with the wider UK&I approach.
Also:
- Partner with the business to develop and implement people plans that align with the UK&I People Strategy and deliver meaningful business outcomes.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the Managing Director and Leadership Team, coaching and supporting senior leaders on people, engagement and performance matters.
- Provide strategic input into organisational design to ensure structures enable player-centric, commercial outcomes.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and delivery of the UK&I People Strategy.
- Implement the UK&I talent and performance strategy, identifying and building the skills and capabilities needed to support our strategic workforce plans.
- Continuously review our approach to performance, ensuring high performance is recognised and rewarded while supporting colleagues to succeed.
- Partner with leaders to embed Diversity, Equity & Inclusion across the business, creating an inclusive environment where everyone can thrive.
- Build strong relationships across tombola and the wider Flutter Group to enhance individual, team and organisational performance.
- Collaborate with the UK&I People team and Flutter Centres of Excellence to share best practice and deliver a consistent, high-quality employee experience.
- Provide commercial oversight of people costs and risks, including ownership of the tombola People budget and headcount planning.
- Use people data and insight to inform decision-making and support business priorities.
- Lead, develop and support a growing People team that is trusted by the business and delivers an excellent colleague experience.
- Own the reward process for tombola, working closely with the Group Reward team to ensure a consistent and robust approach.
- Lead the team responsible for internal communications and employee engagement initiatives across the business.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for an experienced People leader who combines strategic thinking with a pragmatic, collaborative approach and is passionate about creating an environment where people and the business can succeed.
You'll bring:
- Significant experience partnering with Executive and senior leaders in a complex organisation.
- Experience leading cross-functional People teams across multiple locations.
- The ability to navigate a matrix organisation, build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience coaching and influencing senior leaders across the full People agenda.
- A strong track record in organisational design, talent management, employee engagement, internal communications and strategic workforce planning.
- Experience managing reward cycles and applying reward principles across the employee lifecycle.
- Experience developing and delivering people strategies that support business objectives.
- Strong commercial awareness, with the ability to translate business priorities into effective people solutions.
- Experience leading organisational change and complex projects.
- A collaborative leadership style with experience developing high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Confidence working in a fast-paced, evolving environment, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and changing priorities.
- Curiosity, sound judgement and a practical approach to problem-solving.
- A down-to-earth, low-ego leadership style, with empathy, emotional intelligence and a genuine passion for creating a great employee experience.
We're committed to making Flutter and tombola the best place our people have ever worked, and we're looking for someone who shares that ambition.
