The Opportunity

A welcoming and community-focused primary school in Bristol is seeking an organised and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to support the smooth and accurate running of the school’s financial administration.

The Role

The Finance Assistant will work closely with the School Business Manager and senior leadership team, contributing to the day-to-day financial operations of the school.

Key Responsibilities

• Processing purchase orders, invoices and payments

• Assisting with budget monitoring and financial record keeping

• Reconciling transactions and maintaining accurate accounts

• Supporting payroll administration and staff expense claims

• Liaising with suppliers, contractors and internal departments

• Providing general administrative and clerical finance support

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Previous experience in a finance, accounts or administrative role

• Strong numeracy skills and excellent attention to detail

• Confidence using finance systems and Microsoft Office packages

• Ability to manage workload, meet deadlines and maintain confidentiality

• Good communication skills and a collaborative approach

• Understanding of school finance procedures (desirable but not essential)

• Eligibility to work in the UK
