This post is based at the Birmingham Women's Hospital. Main duties of the job
The Department of Cellular Pathology at Birmingham Women's Hospital provides specialist gynaecological pathology services to the Birmingham Women's Hospital NHS Trust, which is a Cancer Unit, and to the Regional Gynaecological Cancer Centre at Midlands Metropolitan University Hospital, which is part of the Pan-Birmingham Cancer Network. The applicant must have some experience in gynaecological pathology and will join a team of 3 consultant gynaecological pathologists and a Consultant Biomedical Scientist to deliver this specialist service. The post-holder is expected to attend multidisciplinary team meetings, and participate in relevant EQA schemes, CPD, departmental educational activities and the regional pathology training programme. Applicants should have, or be eligible for full registration with the GMC, possess FRCPath or equivalent, and be included on the Specialist Register (Histopathology) or, if in training, eligible for inclusion on the Register within 6 months.
