English Teacher - Grammar School

A highly regarded grammar school in York is seeking an English Teacher to join its established and successful English department.
About the Role
This full-time, permanent position involves teaching English Language and Literature across KS3–KS5. Pupils are highly motivated, and the department achieves excellent GCSE and A Level results.
The successful candidate will have opportunities to contribute to enrichment activities such as debating clubs, reading groups and theatre visits.
The School
This selective school serves around 1,000 pupils and is known for its scholarly culture, respectful behaviour and strong academic outcomes.
Facilities include specialist English classrooms, extensive library resources and a dedicated Sixth Form study centre. Staff benefit from structured CPD and a collaborative professional environment.
Requirements
• Qualified English Teacher with QTS
• Experience teaching GCSE and A Level English
• Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for literature
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
