In-House Accountant

Your role

We are looking for an experienced in-house Accountant to take ownership of the day-to-day finance function of a fast-growing telecoms business. You will work closely with the directors and play a key role in keeping our finances accurate, compliant and well-organised as we scale.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining accurate books and records in QuickBooks, our internal ERP system and Excel
• Administering the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS), including verifications, deductions and monthly returns
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns under Making Tax Digital
• Bank, supplier and customer reconciliations
• Month-end close and preparation of monthly management accounts
• Cash flow monitoring and forecasting
• Supporting customer billing and credit control
• Supporting payroll processing, working alongside our payroll provider
• Preparing year-end accounts and supporting Corporation Tax submissions, liaising with external advisers and HMRC where required
• Continuously improving financial processes, controls and reporting

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as an Accountant, ideally in an in-house role within a fast-paced
• Strong knowledge of UK accounting, VAT and CIS
• Confident user of QuickBooks and advanced Excel; experience with ERP systems is an advantage
• Highly organised and accurate, with the ability to manage deadlines across multiple responsibilities
• Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of the finance function
• Excellent written and spoken English

Desirable

• ACCA qualified (or part-qualified with substantial relevant experience)
• Experience in telecoms, construction or businesses working with self-employed subcontractors
• Romanian language skills
