Overall Aims for the Postholder:
The Site Supervisor is expected to be proactive and responsible for the maintenance, good working order and aesthetics of the school. We would like someone who is flexible, really enjoys working with people, and who cares about the needs of the children and staff. The role requires somebody who is self-motivated, approachable, committed to providing a safe, clean and secure environment for the school community, shows initiative and is able to problem-solve, has a wide skill-set including trade skills or an interest in DIY and prioritises and plans their time well, always putting safety first.
Our School: St Nicholas Church of England Primary School is an inclusive and nurturing Christian school, in the heart of a close, village community. Families of all faiths and none are warmly welcomed, valued and respected. We are a large school with 18 classes, yet have a warm and welcoming family ethos. Just a short walk away from the River Thames and with a direct train line into London Waterloo, we are easily accessible for those members of Staff living further away.
We strive for our children to have a love of learning and achieve their true potential. By being respectful, responsible and resilient they can be courageous advocates of change and make a real difference in the world.
Inspected by Ofsted in March 2026, Inspectors noted some of our strengths to be:
Pupils flourish and thrive at this school. They enjoy their learning and feel safe and well cared for.
The school's highly inclusive culture allows all pupils to be valued and experience success.
Relations between staff and pupils are extremely positive and respectful.
Pupils are seen as individuals as staff take care to get to know them well.
Pupils achieve well academically. In lessons, pupils are enthusiastic and attentive learners. They try their best and show impressive levels of resilience and perseverance with their learning.
Pupils show good manners. They are unfailingly polite. They behave with integrity and show compassion and empathy to others.
Pupils' appreciation of diversity and difference reflects their in-depth understanding about curiosity and respect which goes way beyond tolerance.
Leaders' commitment to meeting all pupils' needs is highly evident in the positive impact on their academic and outcomes and wellbeing. Pupils' needs are well known to all and addressed through precisely tailored support. Oversight of such inclusive provision is meticulous and rigorous.
Children in the early years thrive and achieve highly. The early years curriculum is ambitious and delivered with expertise.
Our SIAMS (Church School Inspection) in April 2026, also resulted in a positive outcome:
At the heart of everyday life, the school's Christian vision shines brightly. Shaped by voices from across the school community, it instils a sense of belonging and provides a beacon of hope.
Caring relationships, central to the vision, create a welcoming environment in which people are highly regarded as unique individuals. Committed leaders radiate compassion and positivity, creating a nurturing ethos where staff and pupils live well together.
Pupil leaders are enthusiastic ambassadors for their school, modelling kindness, respect and confidence. Empowered to take responsibility, they take action for positive change both locally and globally.
Enhanced by a thriving partnership with the church, worship is a special time of reflection and togetherness. This enables spiritual flourishing. Prayer is deeply meaningful to the school, resulting in a caring, prayerful community that surrounds people in difficult times.
The Religious Education curriculum is creative and ambitious, resulting in pupils' strong engagement. Dedicated reflection time supports pupils to deepen their thinking and school visits broaden their horizons.
We continually seek further opportunities for school improvement. We are dedicated to ensuring that each individual meets their full potential, be that children or staff. We support career progression and believe in developing staff and ‘growing our own’ talent where possible. We prioritise investment in our staff and premises to expand and enhance our provision, and are fortunate in our excellent facilities and large school site.
We also have:
Happy, polite and hard-working children
A friendly, welcoming and hugely supportive Staff team, PTA and Governor Board
An Inclusion Team to support Teaching and Learning, which includes an Occupational Therapy Champion, and an Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA)
Tailored professional development and training, with access to London Diocese and Surrey support networks
Supportive policies and flexible approaches where possible
