Business Development Manager London / Surrey

£35k - £40k per annum

Our client is a well-established, dynamic and expanding tour operator who offer various inspirational holiday types throughout Asia. Due to success and expansion now seeking an experienced and driven Business Development Manager for a year’s contract with the possibility of going permanent. This opportunity is ideal for a driven travel professional from a tour operator background with business development and/or account management experience with a passion for Asia, seeking something a little different. Each day will not be the same:

  • Assisting in the acquisition of new customers and selling additional products, services and destinations to existing ones.
  • Source, approach and win new business opportunities within the European travel market place
  • Establish relationships with new and current partners; building on key relationships
  • Responsible for delivering growth with existing partners in existing and new destinations
  • Delivering a programme of planned activity, sales calls, training and promotional activity as defined by yearly sales targets and annual marketing plans
  • Sourcing new sales markets within Europe and sales channels
  • Coordinate and conduct training with all key accounts
  • Switch sell agents from competitors
  • Research and develop pricing and product strategies suitable to specific markets and new business opportunities
  • Complete yearly sales plans, monthly reports and process documents
  • Attending trade shows.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience in business development within the travel industry ideally a tour operator
  • Experience working in the European market and travel experience throughout Asia is highly desirable.
  • Ability to build relationships
  • Must have excellent communication skills and be commercially-minded
  • Strong negotiator and confident at presenting with a proven ability to grow business in a B2B environment.
