Data Protection Assistant & Compliance Assistant (ID:25680)

Our client based in Birmingham are a progressive, fast growing Tech firm with an opportunity for a Legal Compliance & Data Protection Assistant to join their team.
This role will be the right-hand person to the Information Governance Manager with extensive stakeholder engagement so strong communication skills are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Data Protection Compliance
- Processing Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) in line with UK data protection laws.
- Assisting with reviewing and responding to data protection–related complaints.
- Supporting the DPO on routine audits (data processors, information assets, cookies, international transfers).
- Legal Audits
- Drafting and reviewing basic data protection policies and procedures under supervision.
- Supporting with audits internally to ensure ISO compliance and Cyber support
- Assisting with the implementation of Data Retention Policies.
- Carrying out ad-hoc research into data protection matters.
- Monitoring updates to UK data protection regulation, ICO guidance and enforcement activity.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date team documentation.
This role would suit anyone who enjoys Legal Compliance and would be keen to pursue a career a data protection and compliance. A Law degree, Cyber, Business or similar degree would be desirable
