Fundraising Officer

We are partnering with an established charitable foundation and grassroots grant-maker. The organisation works closely with local communities, businesses, donors, and charitable funders to direct funding to grassroots organisations tackling poverty, inequality, and other pressing social issues. At an exciting point in its development, the organisation is looking for a talented, relationship-focused Fundraising Officer to help grow the funding available to communities it serves. The organisation is open to appointing someone on a permanent basis or initially for 6–12 months, depending on the successful candidate's experience and availability. About the Role Reporting to the Fundraising Director and working closely with colleagues across the organisation, the Fundraising Officer will play an important role in supporting ambitious income-generation and supporter-engagement plans. This is a broad and varied position with exposure to corporate partnerships, individual giving, charitable trusts and public-sector relationships. You will have the opportunity to build relationships with a wide range of supporters, work closely with experienced senior colleagues, and see first-hand the impact additional funding can have on local communities. Key Responsibilities You will: * Act as a first point of contact for prospective and existing supporters. * Help develop relationships with corporate partners, individuals, public-sector organisations and charitable trusts. * Research prospective supporters and turn information into useful briefings and engagement opportunities. * Support the development of compelling proposals, pitches and donor meetings. * Help coordinate fundraising initiatives, sponsored activities and supporter events. * Build strong relationships with corporate partners, including supporting volunteering and wider employee-engagement opportunities. * Work with colleagues to produce donor communications, appeals and impact reports that clearly demonstrate the difference supporters make. * Support the wider development and delivery of fundraising and income-generation activity. About You You are likely to bring: * Experience within fundraising or business development * Strong relationship-building and communication skills. * The confidence to engage professionally with a wide range of stakeholders. * Excellent organisation and attention to detail. * The ability to manage several priorities within a busy environment. * A proactive, tenacious and personable approach. * An understanding of fundraising and how strong supporter relationships can translate into sustainable income. You do not necessarily need to have followed a traditional charity fundraising career. We are particularly interested in people who can build genuine relationships, communicate confidently, and are motivated by the opportunity to generate more funding for communities experiencing inequality.
