GSL Education Hull are currently seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant to join a specialist educational setting in Hull, supporting students who may require additional behavioural, emotional and social support.

The school is specialist educational setting that provides a supportive and structured environment for students who may find mainstream education challenging. About the Role as a Teaching Assistant:
As a Behaviour Support Assistant , you will play an important role in supporting students both inside and outside the classroom. You will work alongside teaching staff and the wider support team to help students manage their behaviour, emotions and engagement with learning.

Your responsibilities may include:

* Providing 1:1 and small-group support to students.

* Supporting students with behavioural, emotional and social needs.

* Helping to create a calm, positive and structured learning environment.

* Building trusting and positive relationships with students.

* Supporting students to regulate their emotions and develop positive coping strategies.

* Encouraging positive behaviour and reinforcing appropriate boundaries.

* Working alongside teachers and other professionals to implement individual support strategies.

* Helping students engage with learning and participate positively in school life.

* Responding calmly and appropriately to challenging behaviour.

* Maintaining a consistent, patient and nurturing approach.

What We're Looking For a Teaching Assistant who will:
The ideal Behaviour Support Assistant will be patient, resilient and confident when working with young people who may display challenging behaviour.

Previous experience working within a school, specialist provision, SEMH setting, care environment, youth work or similar role would be advantageous. However, we are also keen to hear from individuals with transferable experience who are passionate about supporting children and young people.

You will need to demonstrate:

* Confidence in managing challenging situations appropriately.
