Basic Purpose/Accountabilities
- The Senior Advisor Regulatory Affairs will develop and maintain strategic relationships and clear lines of communication between the company and the regulatory authorities, and stakeholders locally, nationally and internationally.
- Track upcoming regulatory developments and provide regular updates to senior management on regulatory developments with the potential to have significant impact to the business requiring financial or technical solutions.
- Support the supply and processing of new refinery feedstocks and application of new technologies at the Humber Refinery by identifying regulatory issues and proactively developing solutions.
- Lead company advocacy on decarbonisation including the development of renewable fuels and emissions policy and interactions with external stakeholders.
- Support business development work linked to decarbonisation, including development fuels processing and sustainable aviation fuel.
- Provide leadership and cover for Senior Manager, Regulatory Compliance, collaborate and share knowledge with all members of the team.
- Stay informed on UK and EU policy developments, ensuring information is communicated to relevant members of the business.
- Lead on UK ETS policy, represent P66 in FIUK Carbon Policy working group.
- Support the development and implementation of strategies to position the business in relation to policy/regulatory developments and support the development of advocacy strategies as needed. • Lead in submitting feedback to Government via consultations, funding competitions and similar engagements.
- Support the business with Renewable Fuel regulatory and policy developments, including RTFO, SAF mandate, ISCC etc. Communicate with multiple stakeholders inside and outside organisation to develop positions and ensure company can influence, comply and grow from developments.
- Lead relevant discussions with the associated regulatory bodies in support of processing low-carbon feedstocks (e.g. End of Waste, ABP)
- ESG coordinator for UK business - lead on development of Climate Related Financial Disclosures, and other sustainability requirements as needed.
- Develop and utilise industry and international/national/regional networking channels for the organisation to achieve relevant objectives.
- Work with all relevant associations to foster and build support for relevant advocacy aims with government officials.
- Support business development discussions with third parties to identify technologies and feedstocks, aligned to decarbonisation of the Humber Refinery.
- Develop an understanding of the technologies and key players in industrial decarbonisation, to identify long-term opportunities.
- Develop and maintain clear lines of communication with advocates and key stakeholders internationally and use this to shape our work plans.
- Manage relationships and communication with international institutions and partner networks - represent P66 on Fuels Europe Issues Management Committee.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proven ability to develop consensus policy positions and write high-quality white papers. Proven ability to develop and implement policy strategies. Anticipating and balancing the needs of multiple stakeholders.
- Proven ability to support local, national and international policy initiatives.

- Degree qualified chemical engineer or similar with 10 years refining and extensive regulatory experience.
