First Line Manager

Here at GXO, we’re currently recruiting for a First Line Manager to join our team in Northampton . You will provide hands‑on leadership to our warehouse teams, driving performance, productivity and service across stock operation.

These are full‑time, permanent roles , working any 4 on 4 off shift pattern .

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Take full responsibility for shift performance, leading and directing warehouse operatives to ensure productivity, accuracy and service levels are consistently achieved
• Monitor and analyse team performance using operational systems (such as WMS and reporting tools), identifying trends and implementing actions to improve efficiency and output
• Lead, coach and develop your team through regular engagement, including 1‑2‑1s, performance reviews and training plans, building a high‑performance and engaged workforce
• Ensure full compliance with health & safety standards, promoting a safety‑first culture through visible leadership and adherence to all procedures and policies
• Drive continuous improvement activities across the operation, identifying process inefficiencies and implementing solutions to enhance performance and reduce risk

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Proven leadership experience within a warehouse, fulfilment or outbound environment
• Ability to coach, develop and motivate teams to deliver high performance
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Good understanding of warehouse processes and system usage
• Calm, organised approach with excellent attention to detail
