Senior Hip Clinical Fellow in Orthopaedics (Arthroplasty)

Job summary
The Orthopaedic Surgery Department at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust seeks applications for Post CCT Hip Arthroplasty Fellows to fill the period from October 2026 to October 2027.

You will join a team of 22 Registrar/Clinical Fellow grade trainees and 12 Senior House Officers/Trust Doctors.

Main duties of the job
You will be expected to provide an orthopaedic and trauma service in conjunction with colleagues.

You will be working on the Hip Unit at Guy's Hospital covering primary and revision arthroplasty.

Job responsibilities
This post is suitable for a post CCT surgeon wishing to expand their primary, complex primary and revision hip replacement experience.

The candidates will be expected to participate in clinical and other service activities with the object of ensuring a high standard of patient care, including an out of hours commitment.

You will also be expected to take an active part in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training and contribute to the management of the clinical service and service development.

The successful candidate will also be expected:

• To provide high quality orthopaedic services to the Trust patients including the development of the service.
• To participate in clinical and other service activities with the object of ensuring a high standard of patient care, including theatres, clinics and wards.
• To participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training
• To gain further experience and develop an expertise in the management of orthopaedic conditions.
• To participate in a relevant research project and audits.

Clinical Experience
Essential

• Comprehensive clinical experience in orthopaedics and of the services provided at GSTT relating to this field (a validated logbook must be included with the application).

• Full GMC Registration
• FRCS (Trauma and Orthopaedics)
