Your Role

We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to lead a high-impact squad within our Core Data group, tasked with building the next generation of our real-time sports infrastructure. This team is developing the foundational "data highway" and "insight engine" that will power the future of Hudl’s live products.

This isn't just an infrastructure role; it’s a Platform-as-a-Product role. You will be at the heart of our technical strategy, ensuring that event data, tracking data, and machine learning-generated moments move seamlessly from the cloud to a coach's iPad in seconds. Your mission is to solve the "massive data" problem—taking complex, high-concurrency streams and turning them into a clean, unified feed that other Hudl teams can use to build game-changing features.

Success in this role isn't just about "it works," it's also about adoption. You will spend your time not only with engineers but also with PMs across our College & Professional and Youth, Club & High School business units, understanding their roadblocks and helping them integrate these new capabilities into their own products. You’ll be the bridge that allows our Applied Machine Learning teams to stop doing "bespoke integrations" and start delivering automated insights at a global scale.

For this role, we're currently considering candidates who live within a commuting distance of our office in London. But with our flexible work policy, there aren't any current requirements for the number of days you come to the office.

Must-Haves

• A Platform Product Leader . You have 5+ years of PM experience, with a focus on high-scale data systems or APIs. You treat your technical platform as a product, prioritizing the experience of the internal developers who build on top of your work.
• A Leader in Adoption & Integration . You know that a great platform is only valuable if it's utilized. You are an expert at internal evangelism—creating "paved roads" for other teams, writing clear documentation, and providing the support needed to help the rest of the business adopt new data architectures.
• A Strategic "Bridge." You can navigate deep technical conversations with engineers about real-time streaming and latency, but you can also walk into a room of stakeholders and explain exactly how that technology provides a tactical advantage to a coach on the sideline.
• User-Centric & Empathetic . Even though you are building backend systems, you never lose sight of the coach. You’re passionate about taking "raw data" and making it useful, reliable, and fast enough to influence a game in real-time.
• Expert at Navigating Trade-offs . You’re skilled at managing a complex web of dependencies. You can protect the team's focus from distractions while ensuring that the critical needs of our Applied Machine Learning, College & Professional, and Youth, Club & High School teams are met.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience with Real-Time Streaming . You’ve worked with technologies like AWS Kinesis or similar message-bus architectures to move data at massive concurrency.
• Applied Machine Learning Lifecycle Knowledge . You’ve worked alongside data scientists and understand how to build the data pipelines required to train, deploy, and improve models.
• Sports Performance Background . You have a personal or professional connection to sports and understand the pressure coaches face during live competition.

Compensation

The base salary range for this role is displayed below— starting salaries will typically fall near the middle of this range.

We make compensation decisions based on an individual's experience, skills and education in line with our internal pay equity practices. 

This role will also be eligible for a long-term incentive (LTI) award. Any bonuses awarded are based on individual and company performance paid at Hudl's discretion. 

Base Salary Range

£66,000—£111,000 GBP
