Planning Compliance Officer

We are working closely with a local authority in Elmbridge to assist with the appointment of a Planning Compliance Officer , on a 3- months contract, highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay : £25.78- £34.00 per hour

Summary:

The Planning Compliance Officer will be responsible for investigating and resolving suspected breaches of planning control and ensuring that development is carried out in accordance with approved planning permissions, plans and conditions. Working as part of the Development Management team, the Planning Compliance Officer will support planning enforcement activity, proactive compliance projects and public liaison initiatives. The role may also involve preparing enforcement notices, statements and evidence for appeals, hearings, public inquiries and court proceedings.

Responsibilities :

• Investigate reports and complaints relating to suspected breaches of planning control.
• Assist with logging and processing requests for planning enforcement investigations.
• Undertake site visits and inspections to investigate suspected breaches and gather evidence.
• Prepare reports, statements, plans and supporting documentation for enforcement action.

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of planning enforcement and planning compliance principles.
• Understanding of relevant planning legislation, regulations and Government guidance.
• A-Level qualifications or equivalent.

Essentials:

• Experience of using and working with computerised systems.
• Experience of maintaining accurate records and documentation.
