Teaching Assistant

We are working in partnership with a welcoming primary school to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their supportive team.

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive difference by providing personalised support to pupils with a range of additional needs, while helping all children develop the confidence and skills they need to succeed.

The successful candidate will provide one-to-one support for pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD , and Social, Emotional and Behavioural Needs , while also supporting lower-attaining pupils to access the curriculum and achieve their individual learning goals.

The Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you'll work closely with teachers and SEND staff to provide tailored support that enables pupils to thrive both academically and emotionally.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing one-to-one support for pupils with additional needs, including ASC, ADHD, and social, emotional, and behavioural needs
• Supporting lower-attaining pupils to access the curriculum and make meaningful progress
• Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence, and emotional wellbeing through consistent support
• Working collaboratively with class teachers and the SEND team to implement individual support strategies
• Monitoring pupil progress and providing regular feedback to teaching staff
• Helping to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment

About You

We're looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate individual who is committed to supporting children's learning and development.

You'll ideally have:

• Experience working with primary-aged children, particularly those with additional needs
• A good understanding of Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, and positive behaviour support strategies
• A patient, caring, and resilient approach
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• The ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families

Previous experience supporting pupils with SEND is desirable but not essential. We welcome applications from individuals with relevant experience in education, care, youth work, or similar settings.

• An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
• The legal right to work in the UK
• Satisfactory professional references
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
