Primary School SEND Teaching Assistant
Leeds
Leader Education is seeking compassionate and dedicated people to support to support children and young people with behavioural difficulties in mainstream & specialist SEND schools across Leeds.
The Role
You will work closely in classrooms with pupils who have a wide range of additional needs, including communication and interaction difficulties, sensory needs, behavioural and social differences.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Providing 1:1 and small group support to help pupils access the curriculum
* Assisting in the development of independence, and confidence
* Supporting communication and social development
* Adapting your approach to meet the individual needs of each pupil
* Contributing to a nurturing and structured learning environment Experience in a school environment is desirable but not essential , what matters most for this role is a genuine passion for supporting children, particularly those with special educational needs, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to a long-term placement. Ideal candidates may have degrees / backgrounds such as: * Sociology
* Health & Social Care
* Psychology
* Early Years Development
* Sport
* Drama/Theatre
* Creative Arts
