SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Southampton Start Date: ASAP Contract Type: Full-Time | Long-Term Pay Rate: £85 - £100 per day About the Role
Supply Desk is seeking a caring and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in the Southampton area. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children with additional needs overcome barriers to learning. You'll work closely with teaching staff to provide personalised support, build confidence and encourage pupils to become more independent learners. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN.
Assist with classroom learning and targeted interventions.
Adapt activities to suit individual learning needs.
Support pupils with communication, social and emotional development.
Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
Work closely with teachers and the wider SEND team.
Monitor and contribute to pupil progress.
Promote a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment. Candidate Requirements Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable.
Experience supporting pupils with SEN would be advantageous.
Patient, calm and empathetic approach.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Resilient and adaptable personality.
Genuine commitment to inclusive education.
