Finance Assistant

Robert Half is currently working with a rapidly growing, private equity backed technology business operating across multiple European markets.

With an ambitious growth strategy, including continued international expansion and acquisitions, the business is looking for a Finance Assistant to join its growing European Finance Team.

The Role

Reporting to the European Financial Controller, you will provide day to day finance support across the UK and European operations, with particular responsibility for billing, customer queries, credit notes, bank postings and reconciliations across Germany, Austria and Denmark.

You will work closely with colleagues across different European markets and have the opportunity to gain valuable exposure to international finance processes, including VAT and expenses.

The role will also play an important part in supporting the transition from manual, excel based billing processes towards a more streamlined, CRM driven solution.

Key Responsibilities

• Raising customer bills and credit notes accurately and efficiently.
• Responding to and resolving customer finance queries.
• Processing expenses.
• Posting and reconciling bank transactions.
• Supporting month end close activities.
• Assisting with management reporting for Germany.
• Supporting VAT-related processes, particularly in relation to Germany
• Supporting the migration from manual billing processes to a CRM-driven system
• Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring attention to detail across all transactions

About You

We are looking for a proactive and organised finance professional who enjoys working in a hands on environment and is comfortable managing multiple priorities.

You will ideally have:

• Experience within a finance assistant, accounts or billing environment.
• Strong Excel skills, with the ability to analyse and manage large volumes of data.
• Experience with billing, expenses and/or VAT administration.
• An understanding of, or exposure to, German VAT would be advantageous.
• The ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with colleagues.
• European finance experience and/or German language skills would be highly advantageous.

International Exposure

The role involves occasional travel to Germany, approximately once per month - expenses paid.
