Children's Home Residential Registered Manager
Contract: Full Time, permanent
Salary : Up to £44,020 per annum (includes bonuses)
Location: Carlisle
Specific Hours : 40 Hours per week (Monday to Friday)
Lead a Brand-New Children's Home and Make a Lasting Difference
North Lakes Children's Services is a well-established provider of therapeutic residential care and education for boys aged 6 to 18. Our mission is to improve the resilience, self-esteem, and life outcomes of the young people we support.
We are excited to launch a brand-new 4-bed children's residential home in Carlisle and are seeking an experienced, passionate, and child-focused Registered Manager to lead this service from the very beginning.

The Role
As the Residential Registered Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the effective leadership, management, and development of the home. You will ensure the service operates in line with Ofsted requirements, safeguarding legislation, and North Lakes Children's Services' values and standards.
You will lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing team, ensuring young people receive exceptional care and support that promotes positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strong leadership and management of the home and staff team.
- Ensure the home's Statement of Purpose remains accurate and reflective of service delivery.
- Maintain compliance with Ofsted regulations, company policies, and safeguarding requirements.
- Monitor and continuously improve service quality and standards.
- Lead staff supervision, performance management, appraisals, and professional development.
- Identify training needs and support the delivery of staff training where required.
- Ensure effective communication systems are in place across the team.
- Manage budgets and resources efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records and administrative systems.
- Promote and uphold safeguarding, equality, diversity, and confidentiality standards.
- Oversee health and safety compliance and ensure the home remains safe and well-maintained.
- Support the induction and development of new team members.
- Create a positive, supportive culture that delivers the very best outcomes for young people.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Essential
- A strong understanding of the challenges faced by children and young people in care.
- Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare, Children & Young People's Workforce, Health & Social Care, or equivalent.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management (or equivalent).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and people management skills.
- The ability to motivate and develop a staff team.
- A full, clean UK driving licence.
- Flexibility to work across other homes if required.
- Willingness to undertake an Enhanced DBS check (paid for by the company).
Desirable
- Experience working with young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
- Background in residential childcare, social care, or youth work settings.
- Previous management experience within children's residential services.
