Teaching Assistant - Complex SEND Support

Part-Time | Flexible days | September 2026 Start

We are seeking a caring and committed Teaching Assistant to support pupils with a range of complex SEND needs, including Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), physical disabilities, communication needs, and complex medical needs.

This is a highly rewarding role where every small achievement is celebrated. You will play a vital part in helping pupils access learning, develop independence, build confidence, and achieve their individual goals in a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment.

The Role

Working closely with teachers, therapists, healthcare professionals, and families, you will:

• Provide personalised one-to-one and small-group support
• Assist pupils with learning, communication, and social development
• Support pupils with personal care and medical needs where required
• Encourage independence and participation in school life
• Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs
• Help create a positive, supportive, and engaging learning environment
• Celebrate and promote every pupil's progress and achievements

We're Looking For Someone Who:

• Has experience supporting children or young people with complex SEND needs (desirable but not essential)
• Is patient, empathetic, and resilient
• Can build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and families
• Has a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
