Connect Appointments is recruiting a Mill Operative to join an established production business based in Ingliston, Edinburgh.
Our client operates a busy feed mill producing compound animal feed, requiring an experienced operative to support production on a 4-on 4-off shift pattern across days and nights.
What's on offer?
- Temporary position
- 4-on 4-off shift pattern - rotating days and nights
- Pays starting 7am, nights starting 7pm
- 30,000 per annum
As a Mill Operative, your duties will include:
- Operating heavy mill machinery in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures to maximise throughput and feed quality
- Conducting daily stock takes and completing statutory records and production sheets
- Carrying out quality control checks in line with food safety and health and safety requirements
- Liaising with the engineering department to address breakdowns and minimise downtime
- Maintaining a clean, safe and audit-ready production environment
To be considered as a Mill Operative, you will need:
- Previous experience in a team-based manufacturing or production environment
- Experience working to strict safety and quality standards
- A minimum of National 5 or equivalent in Maths and English
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to work proactively under minimal supervision
- A relevant qualification or apprenticeship is preferred but not essential
- Confined spaces certification is advantageous but full training provided
