Project Manager

Role Profile

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering new products into the business on time, within scope, and within budget. This role ensures alignment with customer requirements and commitment dates, required standards, and internal quality processes while coordinating cross-functional teams.

Key Accountabilities And Responsibilities

Person Specification

• Participate in a positive and proactive EHS culture across the site.
• Responsible for managing new product introduction projects, including preparing project plans associated with new product introduction
• Develop project launch plans, bill of material and manufacturing process flow, using a variety of Microsoft tools
• Provide technical support, engineering assistance and guidance in manufacturing techniques in addition to equipment design and operation steps
• Create and maintain process planning instruction sheets
• Assist and direct routings and rework instructions with the Operational Engineering team
• Lead teams in the creation and design of process planning, tooling and cost reduction activities
• Manage, maintain and adhere to project plans through to handover to production
• Provide support to production post-implementation to ensure that the products are built to specification and within production timescales
• Implement engineering and manufacturing change requests and update and/ or change relevant supporting documentation
• Improve process performance through engineering improvements & continuous improvement (Kaizen) activities
• Working alongside key functions (e.g., Quality, Operational Engineering & Purchasing) to drive the appropriate actions through to completion on time and in full.
• Implement control plan actions to mitigate risks, including implementing action plans to address risks, initiate delivery dates and reported findings to Senior Management and Customers.
• Drive the Right First Time (RFT) activities to improve manufacturing process and strive for minimal defects and zero concession on parts
• Review Engineering specifications to maintain knowledge of manufacturing methods, processes and activities.
• Manage tooling introduction on projects.
• Support the ME team across all functions from quoting on new estimates; product introduction; capability acquisition; continuous improvements and technical governance
• Act as customer point of contact for all products going through the NPI process for a dedicated customer
• Oversee the specification and purchase of capital equipment during new product development ensuring balance between optimising technological capabilities and return on investment.

Person Specification

• Strong experience of working as a Project Manager
• Extensive knowledge and experience of systems such as Microsoft Project, SyteLine (ERP) and standard Microsoft office Packages including Word, Excel and Power point
• Ability to establish and build relationships with key stakeholders
• Team player with strong inclusiveness skills
• Proven interpersonal skills
• Proven track record of delivering results
• Ability to effectively communicate (both orally and in writing)
• Good knowledge of the products / processes that are manufactured at the Burnley facility
• Ability to solve problems and implement new ideas to streamline processes
• Ability to work in cross functional teams with strong influencing skills
