The Best Connection Dudley are recruiting for Band saw setter. The role offers regular shifts Monday to Friday with a chance of becoming permanent after a 12 week trial period. Register today and start tomorrow.
Working Hours:
- Monday to Thursday: 7:45am - 4:45pm
- Friday: 7:45am - 3:45pm
- Lunch: 1:00pm - 1:30pm (unpaid)
Benefits:
- 33 days holiday per year, inclusive of bank holidays, taken during factory shutdown periods.
- Overtime available on mornings and/or weekends when required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate band saw machinery to cut carbon steel.
- Set up and adjust saw blades, tooling and fixtures for various cutting tasks.
- Inspect finished products to ensure quality standards are met.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Load and unload raw materials.
- Carry out routine equipment maintenance.
- Work from technical drawings and detailed work instructions.
- Support other engineering activities during quieter periods.
Requirements:
- Good level of maths and literacy.
- Ability to work accurately and follow Health & Safety procedures.
- Strong communication skills and team-working ability.
- Willingness to undertake training and development.
- Positive attitude with pride in producing quality work.
- Previous band saw experience is essential.
- Overhead Crane Licence required.
- FLT Licence advantageous.
- Welding experience associated with band saw operations beneficial.
Pay:Rate £15.74ph
