The service provides forensic mental health consultation, assessment, treatment and psychological interventions to young people under the age of 18 years who present with high risk/high harm behaviours to others. The service is based at Acklam Road Hospital in Middlesbrough however we work across the whole of Durham and Tees Valley. Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to support the team in the delivery of adolescent forensic mental health services; supporting the development of the service and contributing to the provision of excellent, accessible care. The successful candidate will have a motivation to supporting young people and an ability to be flexible and adaptive to the changing demands of the service and our young people. - Eligible for graduate membership of the British Psychological Society

- Experience in discussing and responding to issues related to cultural diversity, intersectionality and inclusivity, including working with vulnerable groups (e.g. those for whom English is not their first language)

- An understanding of the needs and difficulties of people with mental ill health or learning disabilities
- An awareness of the application of psychology to health care
- Awareness of the British Psychological Society Code of Conduct
- Awareness of systemic barriers to accessing psychological services/healthcare for minoritised communities
- Competence in managing research database and statistics
- An understanding of forensic Children mental health
- Previous experience of working with children and young people in forensic setting.
